I completed 12 weeks clinical training at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Centre, assisting in their Post Polio Clinic, including reviewing case studies with Dr Jacqueline Perry, and consulting with specialist orthotists at the facility.
As a Physical Therapist I treated post polio patients and their co-morbidities in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings, as a part of a mixed neurologic and orthopaedic caseload. Serving as a Centre Coordinator for Clinical Education and as a Lead Therapist, I educated peers/staff and patients on the late effects of polio, and consulted with allied health practitioners on post polio oriented care plans and patient education.
I offer my clinical experience and knowledge to benefit the Australian polio community.
